All
Life is Sacred:
For the terminally
ill, the reality of death can produce fears of dying, being alone, being
in pain, or burdening others. Mercy House is an alternative to that fear.
Mercy House embraces the belief that all life is sacred and that death
is a natural part of life and remains committed to the philosophy that
we are neither meant to shorten our time, nor suffer. Motivated by these
simple tenets, we have created a sanctuary where terminally ill patients
can rest, reflect, and receive nurturing care to live out their last days
well. Individuals are assured a place where their fears can be alleviated
and their needs for pain and symptom management are met.
Features
of Mercy House:
- Comfortable, private
rooms with bay windows
- 24-hour care
- Live-in resident
manager
- Beautiful, home-like
setting
- Mercy's patient-
and family-centered philosophy, assures you will be treated with respect,
compassion, and dignity

What is Hospice? Hospice is a form of health care that provides
emotional support and care for people in the final phase of a terminal
illness, allowing them to live as fully and comfortably as possible. Hospice
does not hasten or postpone death. Rather, it affirms life and regards
dying as a natural process.
How
Can You Support Mercy House? Mercy House is a not-for-profit
program available to everyone, regardless of ability to pay. Mercy House
depends on volunteers and community financial support to ensure that hospice
care is available to those who need it. Mercy Foundation has established
an endowment fund to support people who can benefit from the services
and care available through Mercy House. If you have a need for financial
aid or would like information on how to make a gift to the Mercy House
Endowment Fund, please e-mail Foundation,
or call (541) 677-4818.
