Family-Centered
Care
We are Mercy and we are here to serve you. We have
the honor and privilege to provide you with a safe, comfortable
and memorable experience as you welcome your baby. Our mission is
to provide you with quality and service.
In our state-of-the-art
unit we do provide "Single Room Maternity Care," which
means you will generally stay in the same room throughout your labor,
delivery, and recovery.
Our nurses,
in partnership with our physician and nurse midwives, are here to
anticipate your needs, earn your trust and exceed your expectations.
Working as a team, we have the skills to care for you and your newborn.
- Our nurses are certified in neonatal resuscitation and many
are certified in obstetrical nursing.
- We also have a Special Care Nursery in our unit should
your baby need additional care and support.
- We have a certified lactation consultant as well as many knowledgeable
nurses on staff to help you with breastfeeding. You can get continued
support at your follow-up appointment, as well as by telephone
once you leave the hospital
Your spouse, partner and/or support person is welcome to remain
with you during your entire stay at Mercy Medical Center.
To protect
you and your baby, and offer our families-to-be added peace of mind,
our unit is securely locked, requiring visitors to be let in and
out by staff, and we also have a state-of-the-art security system.
To protect
your privacy you will be given a password to give to family and
friends to access our secure on-line birth announcement website.
Prior
to your delivery time, we encourage you to have a preadmission visit
and a tour of the Family BirthPlace. We also offer prenatal education,
breastfeeding classes and sibling classes. Special cesarean-section
classes can be arranged on an as-needed basis. Please call us at
677-2451. You may also call the director at 677-2461
at any time.
Thank you for
allowing us to share in your incredible experience.
