Building Healthier Hearts

Mercy Heart Center's Cardiac Rehabilitation Program

is dedicated to putting people recovering from, or at risk of, heart attacks back in control of their own lives. Through a three-phased program, our specially trained staff provide the knowledge, resources and encouragement to help participants strengthen their hearts and move toward healthier lifestyles.

Phase One:

Determining where you are

The Cardiac Rehabilitation team evaluates your physical condition and outlines a carefully paced program designed to your specifications.

Phase Two:

Putting you on the road to recovery

You will be given a prescription for better health that covers diet, medications and exercise. We help you regain strength and self confidence through a progressive regimen of activity and therapy, at home and in "Club Med," Mercy's own exercise facility geared specificially toward heart patients. In addition to helping you rebuild your body, we provide emotional support and education for you and your family through one-on-one counseling and group sessions with fellow cardiac patients.

Phase Three:

Keeping you in better health

Regular activity sessions help you maintain the progress you've made so that newly learned diet and exercise habits become permanent. The encouragement you've received from rehab staff, other patients and family members continues. You are welcome to remain in the Phase Three component of our Cardiac Rehab program for as long as you feel you need this support.
